behind ōra
Even as a child I was interested in crafts and art, and with ōra I am fulfilling my childhood dream of becoming an artist.
I started experimenting with natural materials like wood, stone, and clay at a young age, creating shapes from them. This curiosity to create something with my own hands and the joy of transforming ideas into something tangible has stuck with me to this day. At the beginning of this year, I had the opportunity to lead a pottery group. As a becoming teacher and ceramicist, my two worlds came together, and I realized: this is exactly what I want to do.
In a world increasingly dominated by artificial intelligence and seemingly striving for perfection, I long to create something authentic. Ceramics is one of the oldest crafts in the world, and with each piece, I feel connected to its origins, as if turning back time a little. Now, with ōra, I want to bring mindfulness and humanity into a fast-paced, digital world. Every piece is created in my hands, bears my marks, and is part of the natural cycle. That's why I take special care to respect the earth and its resources and to keep my carbon footprint as small as possible. I achieve this by consciously avoiding the use of AI, using plastic-free and recycled packaging materials, and being mindful of water, electricity, and clay.
I believe that beauty lies in authenticity and that things created with time, patience, and love carry a special energy. ōra stands for original, raw, authentic—for the real and the imperfect. With every piece, I share a piece of this dream. Thank you for being here and perhaps even becoming part of the journey.
Here you will find not just ceramics, but a piece of authenticity.
